Okay, so I have to admit that putting my first aid kit together was a lot of fun. Please don’t ask me why. It just was.

When my mom and I were shopping we found the perfect size plastic container at Walmart that we thought would be the perfect First Aid kit box! The lid just snaps closed and keeps all the fun stuff inside secure! (I really want to make like a red cross or something to put on the top for decoration!)
Now, let’s take a look inside this mystical box…

Manicure set: Got this at Target for $1. I thought it was a great deal considering you get two nail file type thingies, a skewer (though I don’t really know what you do with it), nail clippers, and tweezers. For a dollar? Awesome.
Sleep Aid: For all the nights that I am overly nervous and excited about being at college i.e. cannot fall asleep. Also good for headaches at night or when full sleep is desired.
Q-tips: For cleaning out wax in ears. I’m not really sure what else (my mom bought them).
Ibuprofen: For Pain Relief that doesn’t require sleep aid.
Neosporin: na-na-na-na-neo-na-na-na-na-na-sporin! (Kung Pow reference going on there…)
Midol: Because cramps fucking suck.
BandAids: Because the Neosporin doesn’t want to be alone. (I have also stuffed some Avatar: The last Airbender bandaids in there as well, because I rule)
There you have it. The mystical box of healing.

Hey Liz!
Congrats on the first first aid kit! I don’t know why, but I also enjoyed putting my first one together.
If you are prone to sprains (like me), you might want to add some ointments that are anti-inflammatory (e. g. with diclofenac)and/or bandages.
Additionally, I’d stock up on pills against diarrhea or nausea, because there is never an open drugstore around when you need those babies…

Hi! I just found your page! And yay for going off to college. I actually just graduated college… and word to the wise- ear plugs and one of those eye cover things (I’m not sure the technical term, but so when it’s light out you can still sleep.) No matter where you’re living on or around campus- you will eventually need ear plugs to sleep. People are always crazy loud at all hours of the night. And the eye thingy? Um lets just say college= naps. But please NEVER wear the typical pj pants that have designs on them. Yoga pants are acceptable, sometimes sweatpants, but never the pj pant. Idk where people think they can get away with it, but trust me, people will silently judge the hell out of you for it.
ok. nice blog! good luck at school! sorry such a long comment seeing as though I just found your blog today!

One thing that you might also want to look into is ear plugs. Depending on your neighbors you can find yourself in the position where you need to sleep but your neighbors are having a party.

hmm.. I’m going to have to be on the hunt for some ear plugs then.. I guess I just don’t know where to look for them in stores. It’s like trying to find string in a Walmart, you don’t know where to start (because my mom needed to buy just plain string and we couldn’t find it anywhere until we went to Home Depot… crazy)
I think I might have one of those eye thingies lying around somewhere.. (It say’s “cat nap”.. because I’m so cool and it matches my kitten pajamas. yep, so cool.)

Ear plugs and a sleeping mask are a must for college. Also, if you like listening to music when falling asleep, those earplugs that suction into your ears are a good alternative. Do you have London Drugs, or an independent pharmacy? They’ll have them.
